Enjoy a superbly cooked and presented traditional Christmas lunch in the unique historical environment of Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome

Experience Christmas lunch in the best-preserved World War One Aerodrome in the world!

More than just a superbly cooked and presented meal, Christmas dining at Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome is an event to remember, and sure to be one of the highlights of your festive season!

Your meal will be served in the beautifully preserved historic environment of The Airmen’s Mess – the exact same room where the pilots and personnel from the Royal Flying Corps will have dined during World War One. With its simple wooden furniture, richly polished parquet floor, uniforms hanging on the coat pegs and piano in the corner, this is a heritage venue like no other. As winter draws in, and the festive season approaches, where better to enjoy a traditional Christmas meal full of festive cheer with your club, friends or family?

Served at the elegantly dressed tables, your seasonal lunch will be cooked from scratch on the premises by our experienced chef, with a variety of options to suit everyone.

A choice of either two or three courses is available, starting with a spiced pumpkin soup, made with vegetables grown and harvested from the Museum’s World War Two allotment.

For the main course, traditional hand-carved roast turkey takes pride of place, served with local Wicks Manor sage and onion sausage meat stuffing, pigs-in-blankets, maple-glazed carrots, sauteed Brussel sprouts, cauliflower cheese, mixed greens, Yorkshire pudding, crispy roast potatoes and rich gravy. Alternatively, choose salmon fillet with lemon and dill, crushed new potatoes, creamed wilted spinach and maple-glazed carrots, or vegan spiced vegetable pie with creamy mashed potatoes and mixed greens. Gluten-free can be accommodated on request.

For dessert, choose from traditional Christmas pudding or rich and gooey sticky toffee pudding, then finish with tea and coffee and a mince pie. Soft drinks are available to purchase, or feel free to bring your own wine to accompany your meal.

This delicious Christmas experience is available on Thursday 20 November and Thursday 4 December, arriving at 12.30pm. Tables must be booked in advance and numbers are limited, so if you would like to experience this unique festive event, don’t delay! The Christmas lunch is priced at £40 a head for two courses or £45 for three courses. As an optional extra, enjoy the highlights of the Museum, including a guided tour of our hangars before your meal, for just £5 per person.

All proceeds from the Christmas lunch help to support our charity, preserving the legacy of Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome for future generations. Registered Charity 1151099
