Join us at Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome for our Christmas event, set in the historic surroundings of our original 1916 Airmen's Mess.
Gathered in the warmth of the Mess, as the Christmas tree twinkles and Rosie's home made lunches waft delicious aromas from the kitchen, enjoy a little nostalgia for Christmas past.
We have over a dozen confirmed stalls with designer-makers selling crafts and gifts, from crochet and glass to metalwork and woodcraft. The blacksmith will be in the forge, demonstrating his traditional skills, with a range of Christmas gifts for sale.
Throughout the day there will be tasty food and drink to enjoy - plus Datum Attitude will be on site with their popular gift packs of beer and cider so you can stock up for the festive season.
Entertainment will run all day long, with music from the talented Sabre Saxes, and vocal performances from the Chelmsford Male Voice Choir and Braintree Voices women's choir. Plus, the fabulous All Saints Church Handbell Ringers will be visiting for the second year running, playing carols and festive songs on bells dating back to 1870.
Youngsters can enjoy making Christmas crafts to take home, and Father Christmas will be dropping in to say hello and wander the grounds. We have other special guests too - including living historians from 10th Essex Living History Group, dressed in their Great War uniforms to lend a touch of WW1 authenticity to proceedings.
Entry to Christmas at Stow is £5 for adults and free for under 16s. Please note, this ticket does not include entry to our aircraft hangars, exhibitions and galleries. You can upgrade to full Museum entry on arrival. Tickets are also available on the door.
