Commemorative flight

Terry and Ant with the aircraft after the flight

On 15 September 2016 a commemorative flight took place to mark 100 years to the day since the first 37 (Home Defence) Squadron ground crew set up at Stow Maries Aerodrome and the first aircraft landed.

Terry Dann and Ant Abery flew the Tiger Moth G-AIDS, itself 75 years old (built in early 1941 by Morris Motors for the RAF as T6055), from the airstrip at Bensons Farm, Laindon to Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome near Maldon.
