Remembrance Sunday 2017

Last Sunday saw the communities surrounding Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome come together in a sensitive and respectful Remembrance day Parade.

Both Serving and ex-members of HM forces were joined by representatives of local Navy, Army and Air cadet units at the highly prized historic site.

The very popular event, always supported strongly, saw emotional scenes as veterans and young people alike laid wreaths on the Memorial housed in the heart of the site.

As classic aircraft dropped poppies overhead, the heart-rending sound of the Last post – played by pipers from The Essex ACF Corps of Drums, echoed around the silent crowds and Great War period buildings.
