Historical Hammerings Traditional Blacksmithing Experience (7 November)

Sun 7th 2021

Free

Join us for a day you will never forget!

Open and welcoming to those with some skill or the complete novice, Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome is happy to invite you to join us to explore this most traditional of crafts, in a unique setting.

Hosted in our original Great War Blacksmith’s forge, you will be tutored personally by Whitechapel Foundry-trained, Master Smith Peter Trick.

Unlike other providers, student numbers are strictly limited to just TWO. With expert supervision, you will be tutored in basic skills on a live, traditional forge – and finish your day having crafted your own piece from a variety of options – including an authentic Smithy’s knife!

All you need to provide is stout footwear and suitable, robust and warm clothing. All your Personal Protective Equipment is supplied.

No need to worry about food – you will enjoy a lunch in our Airmen’s Mess, as our guest. You might want to bring some cash for a coffee, but that is all!

Booking strictly in ADVANCE.

Sessions begin at 930am sharp and will last until 4.30pm.

We regret that we can only offer places for adults aged 18+.

Please meet report to the Welcome Area on arrival.
