From Paris to Purleigh: England team coach visits Stow Maries

The Euro 2016 England coach makes a visit to Stow Maries WW1 Aerodrome in Essex

05.07.16

The England national football team’s coach paid a visit to Stow Maries having returned from the UEFA Euro 2016 competition.

However, the coach wasn’t carrying England’s football players but was bringing a group of visitors to the aerodrome.

Operations and Site Manager Russell Savory said: “It was the official England team coach, and the driver hadn’t long got back from carrying the team around France.

“It was a gorgeous coach, but there weren’t any players on it. It was bringing in a group of visitors to the site.

“We were going to start a rumour that the team came along to play our volunteers in a kick about and lost!”

We welcome groups, coach and schools trips to visit every day except Tuesdays. To book or discuss your visit please complete our booking form.
